  CRAIG
 South Glengarry Township was the Amalgamation on January 1, 1998 of all these communities - Avondale, Bainsville, Bayview Estates, Bridge End, Brown House Corner, Camerons Point, Cashions Glen, Curry Hill, Dalhousie Mills, Glen Brook, Glendale Subdivision, Glen Falloch, Glen Nevis, Glen Norman, Glenroy, Glen Walter, Green Valley, Lancaster, Lancaster Heights, Loon Island, MacGillivrays Bridge, Martintown, Munroes Mills, North Branch, North Lancaster, North Lancaster Station, Pine Hill, Redwood Estates, South Lancaster, Summerstown, Summerstown Station, St. Raphaels, Tyotown and Williamstown.
  The communities underlined in bold is where I have found most of the Craig Family have lived and from where some of them have married other people.
  James Craig (Sr) was born March 6, 1788 / 89 in Scotland and I do suspect his father was John Craig. James married Helen FREW about 1810 inKilbirnie, Ayrshire, Scotland. Helen (Ellen) was born or baptised on June 21, 1785 in Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland and the daughter of Robert and Jane (Armour) Frew. James and Helen came to Ontario, Canada about 1814 - 1818 and settled in Charlottenburgh, Glengarry County, Ontario.
  James died April 26, 1858 in Glen Walter, Glengarry, Ontario and Helen
 died January 4, 1860 in Summerstown, Glengarry County, Ontario. They are both buried at the Salem United Church Cemetery in Summerstown, Ontario.

  1. John Craig was born September 28, 1811 in Kilbirnie, Ayrshire,
 Scotland and he was christened October 7, 1811 at Relief Congregation, Irvine, Ayrshire, Scotland.
 He married Mary WESTLEY about 1834 in Ontario and she was
 born in Upper Canada (now Ontario) on December 7, 1816 and the
 daughter of Charles W. and Isabella (McPherson) Westley. Mary died in 1894 and John died in 1900. They are both buried at Salem United Church Cemetery in Summerstown, Ontario.
  Children of John and Mary Craig nee Westley
  A. Charles Westley Craig was born July 17, 1835 in Glen Walter
 Glengarry County, Ontario. He was christened October 20, 1835 at St Andrews 2nd Concession Church, Bainsville, Ontario.
 Charles married Helen Anne SNIDER about 1860 and probably in Lancaster, Ontario but no document has been found for this.
 Helen was born September 2, 1837 in Lancaster, Glengarry County, Ontario and she died February 6, 1895 in Lancaster Charles died April 1, 1916 at Summerstown, Ontario and his cause of death was LaGrippe and Heart Failure. The informant was his brother Hugh Craig and his age given as 80 years, 8 months and 15 days. Charles and Helen are both buried in Salem United Church Cemetery in Summerstown, Ontario
