Note: Anna Catherine was a high school teacher, going back to get her teaching certificate in 1963. She taught at Arnprior District High School, English and Library, until her retirement in 1985. Anna Catherine was at Queen's University in the mid to late 1940s. In 1949, when she was the Vice-President of the Queen's University Drama Guild, they celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Guild. In honour of the occasion, the Drama Guild presented a special award to Canadian actor, Raymond Massey and former Queen's graduate, Lorne Greene, (who was working in radio at the time) was invited to give a speech. Anna Catherine was paired up with Lorne Greene at the head table for dinner that evening. Lorne went on to fame as Ben Cartwright of the 1960s TV show, Bonanza. Years later, when Lorne Greene was famous, he was invited back to Queen's to receive an honourary doctorate degree. His speech to the graduates was as follows "Buy yourself a good bed; you're going to spend about one-third of your life in it and you want to be comfortable. " That was it! He sat down after that. Anna Catherine is an 11th generation direct descendant of Pilgrims Francis Cooke (and Richard Warren) of the Mayflower. She holds GSMD Certificate #74,946 and Canadian Mayflower Society #435 issued on 8 July 2005 from Mayflower Ancestor Francis Cooke.
