Note: We believed that my Father was born in 1909, and he was named Rachmil. If his Grandfather was still alive when he was born (Rachmil Kampel 1839 - 1910) They would not have named my Father Rachmil. It is likely we have the wrong date for my Father’s birth and he was actually born in 1910. So far we have not found a record of his birth. My Father’s Father Icek possibly immigrated to Canada 6/17/1910 ( we have a ship manifest, but are not 100% certain it is for my Grandfather). My Grandmother immigrated to Canada 9/21/1911 we can verify her ship manifest because her name and the known children’s names on it match. Her Manifest lists my Father’s age as 11/12 so that would make his birth date October 1910. This fits perfectly if Rachmil (his Grandfather) died 9/18/1910.
Note from Jaroslaw Dulewicz (researcher) "As you probably know not all books from Ostrowiec survived. There are no books with death certificates from 1910. But in the Book of Perm. Residents of the town Ostrowiec there is information that Rachmil died on 18 Sep 1910 in Ostrowiec (the death certificate # 63). The book was updated on an ongoing basis so we can be sure of this information. So, it is very possible that your father was born in 1910 and he was named after his grandfather.
I checked the Ostrowiec birth books from 1909-1911 and I did not find the birth certificate of Rachmil Szerman. So, it is also possible that the birth certificate of your father was never registered. "
