Notes
a. Note:   [The following child is supposed to be Courtland & Sarah's, but do not believe so. Most likely he is Courtland & Sarah's grandchild, or may be related as "in-laws" or otherwise. This list of children was quite long, but I've found most were grandchildren and they have been moved to the appropriate families - LZN]
 M.Cortland CRANK (1a # 22-?) (*999-HP91: p.Cortland & Sarah CRANK)
  * Hazel Phetteplace tells me she remembers Courtland coming to stay with them a few days when she was a small child. She remembers him as easy going. They used to tease him that he reminded them of "Mandrake the Magician", a cartoon character. A tall, dark, slim man, he used to tease them back, too. (phone conversation, May-2003)
