Note: * ca 1909, David was headed to Michigan from Idaho, via Chicago, when he spotted a sign in the train station advertising a free trip to Punta Gorda, Florida by the Chicago Pineapple Company. He worked for that company for several years. In the 1920s he went to Virginia to help his brother, Sam, on his farm. There he met his wife. David later moved back to Florida, again to help his brother, Sam, on his farm there.
