Note: y 14, 2006, at the Indiana Heart Center after a sudden illness. He was born August 25, 1922, in New Marian, IN, the son of Hayes and Nellie(Day) Shaffer. He lived in Anderson most all of his life and served in US Navy during WWII, worked at Delco-Remy for 42 years retiring in 1981. Ed was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and TheAmerican Legion. He is survived by his wife, Pat J. Shaffer of Anderson; two children, Cindy and husband Jay Adair of Alexandria, Thomas and wife Rosalind Shaffer of Indianapolis;six step-children, Tricia and husband Steve Anderson, Cheryl and husband Roger Moran, Cindy McMahan, Mary Leonard, Kathy and husband Mark Rice, Bill Francis all of Anderson; five grandchildren, Angela Whitman of Elwood, Jay Adair, Jr., Jason Adair both of Alexandria, Brittany Shaffer and Tommy Shaffer both of Indianapolis; four great grandchildren, Alanah Shaw, Cody Trevino, Monica Coots, Eli Whitman;several Step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Monica W. Shaffer in 1995. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Father Robert William officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Tuesday at Brown-Butz-Diedring Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
