Note:
John Roger Bradley was the second son of Samuel Bradley and Elizabeth Gordon, born at Salem in the Sumter Dist. of SC near the Black River. He married Martha Mitchell. Their parents were among the first families to settle in the Williamsburg Dist. SC and were Scotch-Irish Presbyterians. During the Revolutionary War Roger Bradley served as a footman in Colonel Richardson's Regiment of the Militia in 1780 and as adjutant for General Marion's Brigade in 1782. (Revolutionary War Files no. AA697A, Columbia, SC Library). Will found in South Carolina Archives. Will of Roger Bradley, Sumter Co. Wills, Vol. 1, Sec. A, pp.129-130. Copy of his will in "They Came to Cass Co. Tx." by Ellisue Barber Morris.
Buried Old Bradley graveyard near Scottsville, four miles from Mayesville, SC.
