Note: rvived by his two children, John Gregory Hughes of Grayton Beach, FL,
Amy Hughes of Birmingham, AL; three brothers,John A.(Opal) Hughes, Bill(Joyce)
Hughes, Jack Hughes; many loving nieces and nephews.
Mr. Hughes was a loving husband and father. He graduated from Geneva County High
School in 1949, he earned a B S Degree in Civil Engineering and Mechanical Engineering
from Auburn University in 1953. Mr.Hughes served two years in the Unites States Army.
He worked for many years with Sherlock, Smith & Adams of Montgomery. He was a former
Director with the First National Bank of Hartford.
Visitation will be held at Leak Memory Chapel, Montgomery, AL on Sunday, October 4,
2009 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. at
First United Methodist Church of Hartford in Hartford, AL on Monday, October 5, 2009
with Reverend Jack Kale and Reverend Jimmy Cook officiating. The body will lie in repose
at the church one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow in Hartford City Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to First United Methodist Church of Hartford, AL
or First United Methodist Church of Montgomery, AL.
