Joseph the son only appears in the 1840 census and does not appear along with his wife in the 1850 or 1860 census in Ontario Co. The 1850 census shows a son Alfred, 2 years old living with grandfather Peter Bours. The 1855 NY Census shows Mary Bours (not Stow) and no indication of marriage although 2 children are living with them Lillie Stow and Alfred Robinson. The 1860 census shows Mary R Stow, Lilly R Stow and Alfred R Stow with Peter Bours living with them.
