  Edgefield SC US Census 1850,1860
  Died in the battle of Gaine's Mill near Richmond VA. He was a splendid young man, strong and vigorous in health, sober and thoughtful; yet he loved life, enjoyed fun and the sociality of those his own age.
  It is said that whenever his mother was ill she allways wanted "Andrew" with her as he seemed to know just what to do to relieve her.
  While in the service he wrote his brother, James Talbert several letters that revealed the life of the Confederate soldier.
