  GASTONIA - Gladys Ouzts Jones Garver, 87, passed away Nov. 16, 2014, at her residence. She was a native of Gaston County, daughter of the late James and Mattie Moses Ouzts. She was preceded in death by her husband, Otis Jones Jr., and several brothers and sisters; She was retired from the Gaston County Health Department as an X-ray technician and was a lifelong member of Maylo United Methodist Church in Ranlo where she taught Sunday school for 40 years. She was a beloved and faithful servant of Jesus Christ.Her faith and family were very important to her and her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her daughters and son-in-law, Karen Cherry of Gastonia; and Kathy (Mike) Ellis of Dallas; sister, Mary Nell Hayes of Gastonia; grandchildren, Brittany (Steven) Peeler; Hannah Cherry and fiancĂ©, Aron Wellman; Staci (Daron) Dragon; great-grandchildren, Kinsey, Karlie, and Kaiden Peeler; Jessica and Katelyn Kelly.
