JOHNSTON - Service for Harmon Bertis Ouzts, age 73, will be held November 29, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church with burial in Mt Calvary Lutheran Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Bland Funeral Home. Mr. Ouzts, a native of Edgefield County, died November 26, 2009. He was a son of the late Alma Bertis and Mary Gregory Ouzts. He retired after 44 years with the South Carolina National Guard and 20 years as a federal technician with the National Guard. Mr. Ouzts was a member of Providence Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Survivors include his wife: Nellie Wilson Ouzts; daughters: Sandra (Larry) Cockrell and Wanda (Marvin) Long-Cromer; sister: Marjorie (Harold) Butler; grandchildren: Stephanie and Stacy Scoggins, Mitchell, Brandon and Britt Long, and Christopher and Paul James Cockrell; 13 great-grandchildren.
