a. Note:   N9109 Wrote his will Dec 12, 1824, leaving a slave "Giles" to his mother Mary for her lifetime, then to his nephew John Downing. Left his sister, Christina, livestock, providing that she never lived with her husband, Soloman Downing. If she did live with Soloman, the livestock was to be sold and the proceeds kept for John Downing until he came of age. He lent to his mother, Mary Ouzts, his share of his father's estate, Jacob Ouzts, during her lifetime or until John Downing came of age. His clothing was left to his mother and the balance of his estate was sold and the proceeds left to his nephew, John Downing. The will was probated Feb 21,1825 and recorded, May 12,1825.
