  His will only lists him as Thomas. Nell Dorn at one time seemed to think he was names was Thomas N. or Thomas Napoleon.

  Here is what I have on him.
  Pvt T H (N) Timmerman, died near Winchester, VA. Co K, 14th regt.
  Tombstone in McDowell Cemetery gives year of birth as 1832.
  In 1850 Edgefield Census, Thomas is 16 years of age, single, a farmer who attended school during the year, living with parents.
 In 1860 Edgefield Census, Thomas is 25 years of age. a farmer with real estate valued at $600 and personal estate of $300, married to Savannah age 24 with 4 children at home

 Know all men by these presents that I Thomas Timmerman being of Sound mind memory and understanding make this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following:
 First I will after my death so much of my effects as may be necessary to
 be disposed of to pay all my just debts.
 Second I then will that the balance of my estate both real and personal
 remain in the hands of my wife Savannah Timmerman for the maintenance and support of herself and my children.
 Third I will that in the event of the marriage or death of my wife then
 the whole of my effects be divided as provided by law.
 And I hereby nominate constitute Dr. John Lake executor to this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking and making void all or any other Will by me heretofore made, in witnesses whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this the nineteenth day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixty two.

 Personally appeared before me, Elijah Timmemran, one of the Subscribing Witnesses to the foregoing Instrument of Writing, who made oath on the Holy Evangilists of Almighty God that he saw Thomas Timmerman sign, seal, publish, pronouce and declare the Same to be his last Will and Testament that he was then of sound and disposing mind, memory and understanding, ot the best of Deponents Knowledge and belief; and deponent together with William McDowell and Benjamin McDowell, signed their names thereto as Witnesses at the request of the Testator in his presence and in the presence of each other.
