  After Wiley and Lena's wedding, a large reception was held at the home of his parents, Sheriff and Isabella Ouzts. Wiley later succeeded his father as Sheriff of Edgefield Co. They made their home in Edgefield and later resided in the Harmony community.
  Ward SC, Aug. 12 - Wiley G. Ouzts, a life long resident of Edgefield County died at an early hour past evening at his home near Trenton. Mr. Ouzts was 54 years of age when the end came. He was a man well known in his county and also in the state. In early life became a deputy sheriff under his father, W. H. Ouzts who was elected sheriff of Edgefield county for a number of years. After the death of his father, W. G. Ouzts was elected sheriff, which caused him to serve Edgefield county near 25 years in the sheriff’s office. Mr. Ouzts was a man of many traits of character, a true man, a loving father and a true husband. Besides his widow, who was Miss Lena Smith, and five children, W. G. Ouzts, Jr., Sammie Ouzts, Miss Sara Ouzts, James Ouzts, and Miss Mary Elizabeth Ouzts, he is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Louise Cheatham of Epworth, and Mrs. R. E. Morgan of Edgefield, and one brother, Ollie Ouzts of Edgefield. Mr. Ouzts became a christian in young manhood, joined the Methodist church and lived a consistent member throughout hi life. A live worker in his church serving as Sunday School superintendent, leading prayer services and in fact anything that was put upon him he did willingly. Old Harmony church will sorely miss him. Burial in Harmony Methodist Church cemetery. Mr. Ouzts was loved by all who knew him. The State, August 13, 1926.
