Edgefield SC - George Oliver (Ollie) Ouzts, 81, died Tuesday [May 30, 1967] at his home at Edgefield Plantation House following a brief Illness. Funeral arrangements will be announced by the Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
Grew up in Edgefield attended old Edgefield Male Academy. Was a rural mail carrier for a number of years. He was serene and quite in nature and poccessed the fine traits of character inherited from worthy forebearers. He was appreciated and held in warm esteem by friends who knew him through the years. Made his home with his sister and brother in law, Bessie Lee and R. E. Morgan in Edgefield.

My grandfather was the mailman in Edgefield. He had a nickname "Ollie." My grandfather was a white man. I'm not interested in your family. I am trying to find my grandmother's grave. I already know where my grandfather's grave is. But, my mom had four children by my grandfather. George Oliver Frances Ouzts. My father loved his Dad very much. He spoke about his dad a lot. The only Smith's are my brothers. I know about the black and white issues in Edgefield, S.C. We don't want you in our family either. I was given my granddaddy death certificate and birth certificate in person at the courthouse. A Mrs.Ouzts(by marriage) gave me the paperwork when I asked for it. No questions ask I told her Mr. George Oliver Frances Ouzts was my grandfather. Please stop with this George Smith.
