  Newberry SC - Mrs. Janie O. Ouzts, 87, widow of James Monroe Ouzts died Saturday in a Saluda nursing home after a short illness. Born in Edgefield County, Mrs. Ouzts was a daughter of the late Marion and Mary Emma Parkman Ouzts. She was a retired employee of Newberry Mills. Surviving are six daughters, Miss Belle Ouzts, Mrs. Ellen Bedenbaugh, Mrs. Mary Chappell, Mrs. Anna Hamilton, and Mrs. Ollie Hiller of Newberry and Mrs. Macie Brown of Joanna. Burial in West End Cemetery. McSwain Funeral Home. The State, December 6, 1971.
