She was the daughter of the late John Andrew Ouzts and Dora Elizabeth Streeter Ouzts. Helen attended Monsanto Elementary School; graduated with honors from Tubman High School; graduated from Augusta Junior College and from Wesleyan College with honors. Helen worked for Edwards Gulf Oil Company in Augusta before raising her family. She was the longest serving member of St. John United Methodist Church. Family members include son: Walker Leonard Dupree, Jr., Blairsville GA; daughter: Beth Dupree Rashidfarokhi, Kennesaw GA; grandchildren: Christopher Leonard Dupree, Kennesaw GA, Suzanne E. Dupree Collins, Pendleton SC, Amir Reza Rashidfarokhi, Atlanta GA, Arman Rashidfarokhi, St. Louis MO, Sanaz Rashidfarokhi, Los Angeles CA; 8 great grandchildren; nephew: John Andrew Ouzts, III, Charleston SC, niece: Karen Bland Ouzts, Phoenix AZ.
