Charles Willis (C.W.) Powell, 72, of 102 Forest Drive, Timberlake, husband of Mrs. Gladys Ouzts Powell, died may 1, 1987 at Self Memorial Hospital. Born in edgefield Coutny, he was a son of the late Charles Willis and Annie Ruth Lorick Powell. He was a graduate of Batesburg-Leesburg HS. He formerly worked with the Greenwood County electrical system and later with Duke Power Co. and retired as assistant superintendent of construction, retail operation. He was a member of the Greenwood Country Club, Junior Chamber of Commerce and First Baptist Church of Greenwood, of which he was a member of the Men’s Bible Class. Surviving in addition to his wife of the home; are a son, Charles Kenneth Powell of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Bernice Zane of York PA and Mrs. Woodrow Hawkins of Greenville; a brother, David Powell of NC; and two grandchildren.
