  Death Notice of David Ouzts
  "Died at his residence in Edgefield District on July 3, 1858, David Ouzts, in his 69th year of his age.
  The subject of this notice was born in Edgefield and died near the spot of his birth. I take pleasure in saying that few men were more highly esteemed than David Ouzts. He was honest in his dealings, frugal in his expenses and industrious in the proper calling of his life; and those best acquainted with him are best qualified to appreciate his worth. The poor of his community especially have lost a friend.
  He has left a wife and six children, together with a large circle of relatives and acquaintances to mourn his loss, but not to "sorrow as those who have no hope".
  He was a member of the Baptist Church of Christ about 37 years, being amongst the first fruits of Rev. B. Manly's labours in this District.
  He lived an orderly and consistent life, and died in the triumphs of Gospel Faith, and is gone to reap his reward."
