Aulton David Ouzts, Sr. died Oct. 13, 2012, at G.V. Sonny Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson. He was 76. Born April 21, 1936, in Shreveport LA, Mr. Ouzts graduated from Lake Providence High School before serving in the US Marine Corps and in a long career as an engineer for Illinois Central Railroad before his retirement. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Henry Ernest and Marguerite Ouzts of Transylvania; and one sister, Peggy Nan Ouzts Francis of Montgomery TX. Mr. Ouzts is survived by his wife, Carolyn Patrick Ouzts; three sons, David Ouzts, Jr. of Atlanta TX, and Michael Keith Ouzts and Robert Mitchell Ouzts, both of Vicksburg; one sister, Margaret Overby of Lake Providence; one brother, Henry Ouzts, Jr. of Roans Prairie TX; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
