  Greenwood SC - Mrs. Effie Lee Polatty Ouzts. 79, of the Phoenix section, widow of George Trapp Ouzts, died Friday at Self Memorial Hospital after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Frank Polatty and Mrs. Lou Ella Stalnaker Polatty and lived in the Phoenix section all her life. She was a member of the Damascus Baptist church, the Sunday School, and the Women’s Missionary Society. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Claude Metts of Ware Shoals, Mrs. Caldwell Stallworth, Mrs. Wilson Henderson and Mrs. C. W. Powell, all of Greenwood, and Mrs. M. P. McMeekin of Saluda; one son James Ouzts of Ware Shoals and seven grandchildren. She was the last member of her immediate family. Burial in Damascus Baptist Church cemetery. The State, May 13, 1961.
  Mrs. Effie Lee Polatty Ouzts, 79, of the Phoenix section, widow of George Trapp Ouzts, died this morning at Self Memorial Hospital following a long illness. She was born Feb. 20, 1882, in the Callison section, a daughter of the late Frank Polatty and Mrs. Lou Ella Stalnaker Polatty, both of Greenwood County. Mrs. Ouzts had lived in the Phoenix section all her life and was a member of Damascus Baptist Church, Sunday School and Woman’s Missionary Society of the church. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Claude Metts of Ware Shoals, Mrs. Caldwell Stallworth, Mrs. Wilson Henderson and Mrs. C. W. Powell, all of Greenwood, and Mrs. M. P. McMeekin of Saluda; one son, James Ouzts of Ware Shoals; seven grandchildren.  She was the last member of her immediate family.  Her husband died March 9, 1946.
