  The Augusta Chronicle - September 13, 1942 Rites for Minor Scheduled - Today Funeral services for Capt. William Minor, 56, veteran Member of the Augusta fire department, who died at his residence, 1562 Broad Street, Friday night, after an illness of three weeks. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery. Captain Minor was one of the best known firemen on the department. Ill health forced him to retire several months ago. He was a native of Edgefield SC. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mollie Taylor Minor; a step-daughter, Mrs. J. C. Brown; two step grandchildren; a sister; Mrs. T. H. Tyce, and several nieces and nephews.
  Augusta Chronicle, Sept 12 1942 - William Minor, Veteran Fireman, taken by Death Capt. William Minor, 56, retired member of the Augusta Fire Department, died last night at his residence, 1562 Broad Street, after an illness of three weeks. Interment will be in the West View Cemetery. The veteran fire firefighter was a native of Edgefield SC but had been a resident here for many years. He was retired recently by reason of disability. He was a member of the Junior Order and St. Luke Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Mollie Taylor Minor, one step-daughter, Mrs. J. C. Brown, two step grandchildren, Miss Mary Brown and Charles Brown; a sister; Mrs. T. H. Tyce and several nieces and nephews.
