Funeral services for Josie Ella Basham Vest Ouzts, 84, of Arlington TX, Feb. 6, at Willey's Chapel Methodist Church in Borden with burial in Forest Grove Cemetery, Borden. She died Feb. 1, 2007, at Heritage Oaks Nursing Home in Arlington. She was born March 29, 1922, in Louisville, and her parents Alex Basham and Ada Cannon Basham precede her in death. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Stephens United Methodist Church. She enjoyed embroidery work, crossword puzzles and playing games with friends and family. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her strength, courage and her smile and religious commitment. Survivors include daughters, Marie Vest Kulmer and husband Bruce Kulmer, Mission Viejo CA, Gloria A. Ouzts and Kathy Kyle, Arlington TX; sons, Robert C. Vest and Robert Rone, Cibolo TX, and Michael G. Ouzts and wife Diane, Jeffersonville; sister-in-law, June Basham, Henryville; four grandchildren, Kirsten Kulmer, Andrea, Kyle and Michael Ouzts; five great-grandchildren, Sebastien and Max Kulmer, Nicole Kinnard, and Joseph and Connor Pangburn. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Alex “Skip” Basham and James W. Basham, and a sister-in-law, Helen Basham. Pyke Funeral Service.
