Note: N38334 GASTONIA — Alvin Garver, 83, died July 28, 2007, at Stanley Total Living Center. He was born in Gaston County, son of the late Carmie Vance and Laura Norman Garver. INTERMENT: Hollywood Cemetery. He was co-owner of the former United Bus Lines in Gastonia; member of Garver Memorial Baptist Church (Northside Baptist Church), served in the US Navy during World War II, was a member of Lowell Masonic Lodge #590, the Oasis Temple of the Shrine and the Gaston County World War II Last Man Club. SURVIVORS: Wife, Gladys Jones Garver; a daughter, Robin Garver Rollins and husband Rocky of Bessemer City; two sons, Danny Garver and wife Sheila of Gastonia, Harry Garver and wife Margaret of Rock Hill SC; two step-daughters, Kathy Ellis and husband Mike of Dallas, Karen Cherry of Lincolnton; three sisters Clara Cross, Faye Grubbs and Myrle Bates all of Gastonia; a brother Forest Garver of Charlotte; four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, three step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren Preceded in death by: First wife, Katherine Bradshaw Garver Find A Grave Memorial# 20822317
