SERVICES SUNDAY FOR JAMES M. Kincaid, 84
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday afternoon at two o'clock at the Elk Knob church for James Mathew Kincaid, 84, who died at his home on Big Creek Friday following an illness of the past year.
The Rev. Earl Ward and Rev. E.C. Wheeler will officiate and burial is to follow in the Elk Knob cemetery.
Born January 6, 1870, Mr. Kincaid had lived most of his life in Summers county where he wa actively engaged in farming as long as his health permitted. He had been residing with his granddaughter, Mrs. Russell Burdette whom he raised. He also raised one grandson Albert Simmons of Roanoke, Va.
He had been a member of the Missionary Baptist church for the past 60 years and was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
Survivors include three children. Mrs. Luther Ayers of Sandstone, Mrs. Curtis Butler of Lick Creek, Mrs. Will Richmond of Quinnimont, 11 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
The body will be taken to the home on Big Creek this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock from the Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors.
