Thorne O. Evans, 73, 935 N. 7th St., Colton, died Saturday at his home. Native, Indiana; resident city and state 45 years.
He was a World War I veteran and member of Winslow, Ariz., Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 155, Colton Masonic Lodge.
Survivors: two sons, Bud, Colton; Gene, Ventura; sister, Thelma Anderson, Indiana; three grandchildren.
Services pending at Knopsnyder Mortuary, Colton. The family request donations be made to the Heart Fund.

Thorne O. Evans
Thorne O. Evans, 73 - year-old former Bedford resident and father of Eugene B. (Gene) Evans, movie and television star, died Friday night at his home in Colton, Calif., it was learned here today.
Mr. Evans, a grocer, was born August 3, 1895, in Koleen (Greene County) to L. A. and Myrtle Davis Evans. He was married November 29, 1923 to Lois Williams of Bedford. She died in 1959.
Mr. Evans had lived in California several years. Survivors include two sons - Gene of Hollywood and Alfred C. Evans of Colton, Calif.; three granddaughters, and one sister, Mrs. Martin (Thelma) Anderson of Bedford.
He was a member of the Elks Lodge and American Legion and was a veteran of World War I. Services and burial were in Colton, Calif.
