Midway Street
Helene W. Crater, 87 of Midway Street, died at 12:10 p.m. Thursday at Columbus Convalescent Center.
Mrs. Crater retired from Union Bank and Trust Co. in 1972. She was a member of First Christian Church, Order of the Eastern Star, Tri Kappa sorority and American Association of University Women.
Funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday by Myers Funeral Service at Reed and Jewell Chapel, with the Rev. David Mahoney officiating. Calling hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today. Burial will be at Garland Brook Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
Born March 22, 1900, in Bedford, Mrs. Crater was the daughter of Smith V. and Frances Holzclaw Williams. She was married to Harold C. Crater in 1926 and he died in 1941.
Survivors include a son, Harold Crater of Winamac; a sister Doris Harris of Bedford; a brother, Vernon Williams of Indianapolis; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
