  COLONEL CRATER DIES SUDDENLY
  Edinburg Native Heart Attack Victim - Burial to Be Here
  Lieut. Col. Harold C. Crater, 45, who died suddenly Sunday at Camp Shelby, will be interred in Garland Brook cemetery here Wednesday afternoon following funeral services at 1 o'clock in Flinner & Buchanan mortuary in Indianapolis.
  The service will follow a military funeral in the regimental area of the 139th Field Artillery, of which he was commander of the First battalion.
  Colonel Crater was born at Edinburg and attended Franklin college where he was an athlete.
  His father, Levi Crater, lives with his sister, Mrs. Henry Maley, north of the city.
  Also surviving are his wife, a young son, Harold Jr., another sister, Mrs. Bernina Lortz of Anderson, and a brother Q. M. Crater of Pittsburgh.
  Falls Dead in Tent.
  Conda Lortz of this city is a nephew. Two other nephews are serving in his regiment at Camp Shelby.
  A few hours after conducting non-sectarian religious services in the recreation hall of his regiment, Colonel Crater fell dead in his tent. Death was attributed to heart disease brought on by a recent illness of flu.
  Colonel Crater served in the first World war as a lieutenant of infantry at Camp Taylor, Ky. and Camp Hancock at Augusta, Ga. He had been a member of the 139th Field Artillery since 1923 and was promoted to lieutenant colonel last July.
  Superintendent of schools at Speedway city for several years, he recently became superintendent at Lawrenceburg. He was on leave of absence from that office during his tour of military duty.

  Dies at Camp Shelby

  Camp Shelby, Miss., April 20 - (AP) - Lieut. Col. Harold C. Crater, commander of the First Battalion of the 139th Field Artillery, died of a heart seizure in his tent today.
  Only a few hours before he had conducted a non sectarian religious service in the regimental recreation hall.
  Col. Louis I. (L.?) Roberts of Evansville, regimental commander, said Colonel Crater had insisted on carrying on his work of co-ordinating training of drafted men rather than take sick leave after an influenza siege and "his death is no doubt attributable to the sacrifice."
  Colonel Crater, 45 was on leave of absence as Lawrenceburg school superintendent.
  His battalion was made up of soldiers from Crawfordsville, Franklin, Noblesville and Lebanon and had headquarters in Indianapolis.
