BEDFORD - Mildred J. Smith, 79, of 2036 31st Street, Bedford, died at 7:40 a.m. Tuesday at the Dunn Memorial Hospital.
Born March 12, 1927, in Bedford, she was the daughter of Ralph and Doris (Williams) Harris. She married Robert Smith on Dec. 26, 1967, and he preceded her in death.
She retired as a secretary from Star Stone Co. in Bloomington.
Survivors include two sons, Donald T. Cox and Robert C. Smith, both of Bedford; one daughter, Georgia Hoult of Lakeland, Fla.; six grandchildren, Rhea Hoult, Jacob Hoult, Andrea Erskine, Kelley B. Cox, Tiffany N. Smith and Robert W. Smith; one great-grandchild, Haley D. Cox; two brothers, Smith Harris of Bedford and George Harris of Williams; one sister, Rosalie Terry of Bedford.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers, Wayne and Donald Harris.
Graveside services will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the Owensburg Cemetery with Dirus Dustin officiating.
Friends may call from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Day & Carter Mortuary.
