Note: The Bedford Daily Times-Mail Bedford, Indiana Thursday, February 26, 1953 Page 10, Column 1 Phillip Harris Dies at Home A retired stone mill employee, Phillip Harris, died at 7 a.m. today at his residence, 2802 I street (Bedford, IN). He had been ill for about a year. Mr. Harris was born September 10 1876, in Martin County to John and Susan Spaulding Harris and was married to Ethel Smith, August 19, 1897, at Shoals. He was a member of the Bedford First Baptist Church. Surviving are the widow; four sons, Ralph and Glen Harris, both at home; Carl Harris, Portsmouth NH, and Claude Harris, Washington, DC; 12 grandchildren; three half-brothers, Marion and Newton of Odon, Ind and Henry Harris, Missouri; and one half-sister, Mrs Hannah Taylor of Bedford. A son, Ivan, and an infant daughter, May preceded him in death. Rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Sherwood & Ferguson Funeral Home with Rev. A. N. Corpening officiating. Place of interment will be the Green Hill Cemetery.
