John Ballengee Sr.

John Sherman Ballengee Sr., 87, passed away Monday, Sept. 5, 2011, in Brandon, Miss. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Ballengee was born in Lillybrook, W.Va. He was a member of the Teamsters Local 992 in Hagerstown, Md., served in the U.S. Marine Corps, and was a truck driver for 42 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, six brothers, two sisters, his first wife, Aileen Parish Ballengee, and his grandson, David Moats.
Mr. Ballengee is survived by his wife, Eleanor "Ellie" Ballengee; son, John (Joanne) Ballengee Jr., of Hagerstown; three daughters, Brenda Mills of Biloxi, Miss., Judith (Roger) Sirbaugh of Waynesboro, Pa., and Sandra (Danny) Dowd of Utica, N.Y.; one stepson, Blake (Anita) Haines of Plain City, Ohio; one stepdaughter, Luann (Billy) Moore of Florence, Miss.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
