  PAGE - Owen Shirley Ballengee, 73, died Sunday, May 9, 2004, at his home. Born Jan. 5, 1931, at Mead, he was the son of the late John Edgar and Margaret Buckland Ballengee. Mr. Ballengee was a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal, Stickney Mines. He was a member of the Robson Freewill Baptist Church and the UMWA District 17. He was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Laurie Parrish Ballengee and a son, David Ballengee; and a daughter, Drema Ballengee. Survivors include sons, Larry, Dennis and Herb Ballengee, all of Page, Owen Ballengee of Oak Hill and Glenn Ballengee of Beckley; daughters, Susan Smith of Teays Valley and Deborah Thomas of Page; grandchildren, Drew Ballengee, Grant and Blake Smith and Marshall Wade Thomas; brothers, John Ballengee of Mississippi and Harold Ballengee of Georgia; and a sister, Marie Lester of Beckley. Service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Tyree Funeral Home, Oak Hill, with the Rev. Jack McNeely officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.   Owen Shirley Ballengee, 73, of Page, WV died on Sunday, May 09, 2004 at his home.
