Note: Obituary: Robert L. Ballengee MULLENS - Robert L. Ballengee, 65, died Wednesday, Jan 23, at a Beckley Hospital, following a long illness. Born Aug. 23, 1925 at Vanwood, he was the son of the late John E. and Margaret Buckland Ballengee. Mr. Ballengee was a 25-year resident of Mullens, a member of the First Church of God at Corinne, a World War II and Korean Conflict veteran and was a retired miner. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy and Ralph Ballengee. Survivors include two sisters, Bernice Marie Lester of Mullens and Margaret Robinson of Waldorf, Md., and four brothers, Owen Ballengee of Page, Howard Ballengee of Waldorf, Harold Ballengee of Maryland and John Ballengee of Williamsport, Md. Services will be Saturday, 11 a.m., at the Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens, with the Rev. J.D. Livingston officiating. Burial will be in the Roselawn Memorial Park, Princeton. Friends may call today from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Varney Cline American Legion Post No. 133 of Pineville.
