Note: e on WWI & WWII draft registration. *** Raleigh Register Beckley, West Virginia Thursday, May 1, 1958 Page 8 (photo) BUD GOODE Goode Funeral Slated Saturday MULLENS (RNS) - Final rites for a veteran railway conductor, Bud Goode, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the South Mullens First Church of God by the Rev. Paul Campbell. Goode, 64, died at 8:35 a.m. Wednesday in a Beckley hospital of leukemia. He had been hospitalized since September. Goode resided at 1223 Guyandette Ave., Mullens. Born Jan. 31, 1891, at Newfound, near Pineville, he was a son of Silas and Nancy Jane Short Goode. An employee of the Virginian Railway since 1917 and veteran of World War I, he was a member of the South Mullens First Church of God, Order of Railway Conductors, Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, and the Wyoming County American Legion Post at Mullens. Survivors include his wife, Viola; two sons, John of Edwards, Calif., and Paul of Mullens; two daughters, Mrs. Warden Paris of Charleston and Mrs. Bernard Ellis of Mullens; four brothers, Johnson of Saulsville, Everett of Keyser, Kenneth of Covington, Va., and Booker of Eccles, Two sisters, Mrs. Augusta Clay of Newark, Del., and Mrs. John Cozort of McGraws, and eight grandchildren. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens near Beckley. Pallbearers will be J. Ken Cook, J. E. Gregg, Tom Spradling, John Bradbury, H. S. Burcham, W. Z. Clark, Grover Dooley, and Paul Christian.
