Man Dies At 83; Services Planned
RONCEVERTE (RNS) - Emory J. Martin, 83, of Ronceverte died Saturday in a hospital here after a short illness.
He was a member of the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church and had lived here for 48 years. He was a justice of the peace for 15 years and a member of Greenbrier Lodge No 146, Odd Fellows; Fort Hill Rebekah Lodge No. 17 and Brotherhood of Maintenance and Way Employes.
He was a retired Chesapeake and Ohio Railway section foreman.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Pearl Robinson and Mrs. Mary Seal, both of Ronceverte; two sons, Lewis of Beaumont, Texas, and Lee of Falls Church, Va.; two sisters, Mrs. Chloe Bragg and Mrs. Florina Bennett, both of Ansted; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Ronceverte Presbyterian Church with Rev. Alvis Daniel in charge, Burial will be in the End-of-the-Trail Cemetery at Clintonville with graveside rites conducted by members of the Odd Fellows Lodge.
The body will remain at the Wallace and Wallace Funeral Chapel in Ronceverte and will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
