Holsclaw - Ezra B., of Franklin, Ind., passed away December 6, father of Mrs. Oliver Miller and Smith Holsclaw, of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Home Bullard of North Vernon. Funeral Sunday, 2 p.m., at the home, 3 miles south of Franklin, Ind.

Ezra Holsclaw Succumbs At 77
Rites For Retired Farmer Are Sunday
Ezra B. Holsclaw, age 77, died Friday night at his home, three miles south of Franklin. He had been in failing health for several months, but only in a critical condition for the past few days.
Funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon at the home, with the Rev. C. A. Wade of the West View Baptist church, Indianapolis, in charge. Burial will be in the Hopewell cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the home and attend the services.
Mr. Holsclaw was born in North Vernon, Nov. 6, 1863, the son of William and Almyra King Holsclaw. He came to Johnson county in 1882 and in 1885 was united in marriage to Miss Mattie Deer of Bargersville. She preceded him in death in 1895.
In 1910, he was united in marriage to Miss Nettie Stewart of North Vernon, who survives.
Four children were born to the first union, three of whom survive. They are Mrs. Homer Bullard. North Vernon; Mrs. Olive Miller, Indianapolis; Smith Holsclaw, Indianapolis. A daughter, Blanche, died in 1908.
A brother and three sisters also survive. They are Mrs. Edwin Carson, Seymour; Mrs. Oscar Beaman, North Vernon; Mrs. Herbert Searles, Washington state, and J. Harry Holsclaw, Auburn. Cal. Mr. Holsclaw visited his brother here recently.
Mr. Holsclaw had engaged in farming all his life and remained active until failing health prevented. When a young boy, he united with the North Vernon Baptist church, but later became a member of the Bargersville Christian church. He was a good neighbor and had a host of friends.

Pain Caused Insanity.
Franklin, Ind., Sept. 5. - Ezra B. Holsclaw, a young farmer near here, has been declared insane. He recently had an arm crushed in a clover huller and he suffered so much that his mind gave way.
