Note: The Independent-Herald Hinton, West Virginia Wednesday, February 25, 1942 Page 1 Mrs. Ellen Kincaid Dead Mrs. Ellen Kincaid, aged 53 years, a resident of Big Creek near Hinton died at her home at 5:30 o'clock Friday morning of a heart ailment, following an illness of seven years. Mrs. Kincaid was widely known and highly respected in the Big Creek community, where she was born, and had spent her entire life. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church. Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Sunday at the Elk Knob Baptist church by the pastor, Rev. Earl Ward, and burial followed in the Elk Knob cemetery. In addition to her husband, she is survived by four brothers: R. O. Dodd, of Bellburn, H. R. Persinger, of Hinton; B. O. Persinger, of Fireco; and E. O. Persinger, of Ashland, Ky.; and three step children: Mrs. Grace Ayers, of Sandstone; Mrs. Myrtle Richmond, of Quinnimont, and Mrs. Ina Butler, of Hill Top. *** Hinton Daily News Hinton, West Virginia Friday, February 20, 1942 Page 1 BIG CREEK WOMON SUCCUMBS THURSDAY Mrs. Sarah Ellen Kincaid Dies After Seven-Year Illness Mrs. Sarah Ellen Kincaid, 53 years old, of Big Creek, died at 5:30 o'clock this morning at her home of a heart ailment following a seven-year illness. Born March 13, 1889, Mrs. Kincaid had lived in the Big Creek section her entire life and was widely-known and respected. She was a member of the Freedom Baptist church. She was the wife of James M. Kincaid. Funeral services will be conducted at the Elk Knob Baptist church at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon with Rev. Earl Ward, pastor, officiating. Burial will take place in the Elk Knob cemetery. Surviving are her husband; four brothers, R. O. Dodd, of Bellburn, H. R. Persinger, of Hinton; B. O. Persinger, of Fireco; and E. O. Persinger, of Ashland, Ky.; and three step-children: Mrs. Grace Ayers, of Sandstone; Mrs. Myrtle Richmond, of Quinnimont, and Mrs. Ina Butler, of Hill Top.
