  The Ray Cemetery was originally located in Ray, Pinal Co., AZ, USA, but as the copper mine slowly grew, the entire town of Ray, including the cemetery, was moved down the road to Kearny, Pinal Co., AZ, USA by the Kennecott Copper Co.
  Ray Memorial Cemetery is South of Kearny, Pinal County, Arizona about one (1) mile.
  "THE RAY MEMORIAL CEMETERY WAS CREATED TO PROVIDE A SUITABLE RE-BURIAL LOCATION FOR THE REMAINS OF THOSE WHO HAD BEEN INTERRED AT THE RAY, CEMETERY IN RAY, ARIZONA.
  THE FIRST RECORDED BURIAL AT RAY WAS ON NOVEMBER 3, 1910. THE LAST ON NOVEMBER 20, 1967. DURING THE INTERVENING PERIOD, MORE THAN 2500 OTHERS WERE INTERRED.
  BECAUSE OF BAD RECORD KEEPING IN THE EARLY YEARS, MORE THAN 500 OF THOSE BURIED HAD TO BE CLASSED AS "UNKNOWN".
  THE REMOVAL OF THE FIRST REMAINS TOOK PLACE ON JANUARY 15, 1973 AND THE MOVEMENT CONTINUED THROUGH JULY 6, 1973.
  WHERE A USEABLE HEADSTONE HAD BEEN PROVIDED AT THE RAY CEMETERY, IT WAS MOVED INTACT TO THE NEW LOCATION.
  IN CASES WHERE THERE WAS NO HEADSTONE OR SUITABLE MARKER ON THE ORIGINAL GRAVE, ONE HAS BEEN PROVIDED SHOWING THE NAME AND ANY OTHER INFORMATION AVAILABLE FROM THE RECORDS.
  AS REQUIRED BY STATE LAW, A LICENSED MORTICIAN, GRIFFITH AND SONS, SUPERVISED THE DISINTERMENT AND REINTERMENT OF ALL REMAINS.
  THE PEDESTRAIN GATES OF THE RAY MEMORIAL CEMETERY WILL BE OPEN AT ALL TIMES FOR THE CONVENIENCE OF THOSE WHOSE LOVED ONES HAVE BEEN PLACED TO REST HERE."
