Continued: Mary M. Chandler, 75, of Scott Depot, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday September 16, 2010 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
Mary was a graduate of Marshall University, and enjoyed a long career of teaching and counseling the youth of Putnam County. Though she traveled the world after retirement, she loved being at home or her Pocahontas County cabin with family and friends.
Mary's true passions were her Lord Jesus, her church family and her Billy, whom she waited 17 years to see again. Mary and Bill were so proud of the families in their Sunday school class and are patiently waiting to see them again.
She is survived by her two sons, Mark A. Chandler of Hurricane and Brett Chandler of Cross Lanes; grandchildren, Erin Afre, Evan Chandler, Nathan Chandler, Hannah Chandler, Rachel Mary Chandler and Sarah Chandler; one great-granddaughter, Brooklyn Chandler; sister, Erda Romans of Ohio.
Funeral service at Mount Vernon Baptist Church in the Historic Sanctuary, 2150 Mount Vernon Road, Hurricane with Dr. Jeffrey A. Johnson officiating. Burial in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
