Bloodhounds Sent For And Are On The Trail - A Severe Loss To Israel Harris Of Steen Township.
At an early hour this morning a large barn belonging to Isreal Harris, one of Steen townships best farmers was entirely consumed by fire, together with all it's contents, including nine head of horses.
The fire was of incendiary origin.
Mr. Harris telegraphed immediately to Seymour for Carter and his blood hounds who arrived on the morning train, and were taken at once to the scene of the crime.
The fire was discovered by Mr. Harris when it was too late to save any of the horses or contents.
For some time a gang of thieves have been working in Steen and Harrison townships and it may be that the burning of Mr. Harris' bar was to cover up the tracks of their dastardly work.
It is to be hoped that the blood hounds will run the rascals to earth and that the guilty parties will be brought to justice.
The loss of Mr. Harris is a severe one and will foot up into the thousands of dollars.
