  Mrs. Effie A. Allen
  Funeral services for Mrs Effie Ann Allen, 84, of Coal City, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coal City Church of God, with the Rev. James Compton and the Rev. Haskell Salmon in charge. Burial will follow in the Coal City Community Cemetery.
  Mrs. Allen was dead on arrival at a local hospital at 8:03 a.m. Monday after a long illness.
  She left 166 survivors.
  Mrs. Allen was a member of the Church of God at Coal City and was born May 7, 1897, at Hinton, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Richard Buckland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Jasper Allen.
  Survivors include four sons, H. H. of Whithy, Lawrence of Coal City, Thomas of Chicago, Ill., and Theodore of Pawoley's Creek; five daughters, Mrs. Mary Stepro of Coal City, Mrs. Sarah Kramer of Cochecton, N. Y., Beulah (Mrs. Lawrence) Hedrick of Jacksonville, Fla., Julia (Mrs. Vollie) Irvin of Walterboro, S. C., Eliza (Mrs. Stewart) Havens of Cochecton, N. Y.; a brother, Dewey Buckland of Palos Creek, a sister. Mrs Esta Bailey of Jacksonville, Fla., 57 grandchildren, 97 great - grandchildren and two great - great - grandchildren.
  The body will be taken to the church one hour prior to services.
  Friends may call at the Williams Funeral Home in Sophia from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today.
  Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
