Note: The Beckley Post-Herald Beckley, West Virginia January, 1969 Robert Buckland Dies In Hospital HINTON (RNS) - Robert W. Buckland 79 of Powley's Creek, died at 11:10 p.m. Saturday in a Hinton Hospital following a long illness. Born April 25, 1889 in Summers County, he was the son of the late Richard and Eliza Cox Buckland. Buckland was a retired employ of the C & O Railway Co., and was a member of the Freedom Baptist Church on Powley's Creek. Survivors include three sons, Samuel of Crab Orchard, Gordon of Fanwood, N. J., and Robert of Elkhart, Ind.; three daughters, Mrs. Marie Pack of Hinton, Mrs. Ada Cox of Crab Orchard and Mrs. Edward Morgan of Radford, Va.; a brother, Dewey Buckland of Hinton; three sisters, Mrs. Maymie Gunoe of Hinton, Mrs. Effie Allen of Coal City and Mrs. Esta Bailey of Cirtsville; 33 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren. His wife Bertha Allen Buckland, died in 1946. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Freedom Baptist Church on Powleys Creek with Rev. E. C. Wheeler and Rev. Mark Farren in charge. Burial will be in the Valley View Cemetery near the church. The body will remain at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors and will be placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral.
