Mrs. Lilly Funeral To Be Held Tuesday
Funeral services for Mrs. W. A. Ness Lilly, 80 of Beaver, who died in a local hospital at 8 a.m. yesterday, following an extended illness, will be conducted at the Daniels Community Church, at 2 p.m. tomorrow, with the Rev. L. A. Garten officiating assisted by the Rev. Oscar Lilly.
She was born in Summers County, Oct. 5, 1872, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Cox, and had been a resident of Raleigh County for the past 50 years.
She was a member of the Missionary Baptist Church. Her husband preceded her in death in 1906.
Survivors include: on son, Roy Lilly of Beaver; five daughters, Mrs. Willie Underwood, Mullens, Mrs. H. M. Lilly, Hinton, Mrs Ollie Richmond, Beaver, Mrs. Carrie Rice, Beaver, and Mrs. C. O. Lilly of Beckley; two step sons, Rev. Richard Lilly of Nimitz, and Henry Lilly of Beaver; two step daughters, Mrs. Ida Neely, of Roanoke, Va., and Mrs. Jessie Reed, of Maryland; one sister, Mrs. Liza Buckland of Summers County; and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The body will remain at the Calfee Funeral Home until 4 p.m. today, when it will be removed to the home of Melvin Rice at Daniels.
Burial will be in the Beaver Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will include: Melvin Rice, Kendel Rice, Burchel Richmond, Edward Lilly, Dillie Lilly and Abe Lilly.
