  S.V. Williams, 87 Succumbs To Ills
  S. V. Williams, former school teacher and prominent local florist for 35 years, passed away yesterday at 11:15 p.m. at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Doris Harris, 2122 Twenty-fourth street.
  Mr. Williams had been ill since December 1950.
  He came to Bedford in 1900 and built a floral greenhouse at Eighth and O streets and continued in the floral business for 35 years. Mr. Williams had taught school in Jennings county prior to entering the floral field. He was a graduate of Waverly (Ohio) College and was a member of the First Baptist Church and a deacon for many years.
  In recent months he had transferred his membership to the Englewood Baptist Church.
  Born December 10, 1863 in Jennings county, he was the son of James and Elizabeth Haney Williams. On May 31, 1891, he married Frances Ann Holsclaw and she died on October 12, 1917.
  Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Harris, with whom he lived; Mrs. Corrine Landreth, Pendleton, Oregon; Mrs. Lois Evans, Colton, Cal.; and Mrs. Helene Crater of Columbus, Indiana; two sons, Virgil Williams, Vernon, Indiana, and Vernon Williams, Indianapolis; fourteen grandchildren and two great great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Mary Gibson, Shelby O.
  Funeral services have been arranged for 3 p.m. tomorrow at the First Baptist Church of Bedford with Rev. A.M. Corpening and Rev. Richard Kern officiating.
  Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery.
  The body will lie in state at the Day & Carter Mortuary after 6 p.m. today.
  Day & Carter Mortuary is directing the funeral.
