Note: Raleigh Register Beckley, West Virginia Friday, July 8, 1960 Page 2 Isaac Buckland Isaac Buckland, 44, a former Raleigh County deputy sheriff, died at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at his Westminster, Calif., home after suffering a heart attack. He had served eight years as a deputy - four years under Sheriff Okey Mills' first term in office and four years with sheriff John Ward. He was a son-in-law of J. P. Meadows, Crab Orchard. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Maxine Meadows Buckland; one daughter, Marcell, and three sons, Wesley, Isaac Jr., and Stevie, all residing at home at 6022 Chinook Ave., Westminster; his father, R. H. Buckland, Hinton; three sisters, Mrs Elsie Morgan, Radford, Va.; Mrs. Marie Pack, Middleland, Tex., and Mrs. Ada Cox, Crab Orchard; three brothers, Gorden, Plainfield, N. J.; Sam, Crab Orchard, and Robert, Elkhart, Ind. Funeral Services will be held Saturday in Westminster, with his sister, Mrs. Cox, attending. *** Note: California death index states Isaac died in Los Angeles County. But Westminster is currently in Orange County. He may have been taken to a Los Angeles hospital where he was pronounced dead.
