  SAMUEL H BUCKLAND
  Samuel Henry Buckland, 76, of 311 Beaver Ave., Beckley, died at 6:35 p.m. Sat., June 19, 1993, at his home following a long illness.
  Born May 13, 1917 at Bellepoint, he was the son of the later Robert and Bertha Allen Buckland.
  Mr. Buckland was a retired coal miner with 25 years of service, a member of UMW District No. 29, American Legion Post No. 32, and VFW Post No 4326 at Midway.
  He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II veteran who served in Iran for three years.
  Mr. Buckland made his home in Crab Orchard for the greater part of his adult life, where he attended the Church of the Brethren.
  He was prerecorded in death by two sisters, Lucy Ballengee and Elsie Morgan, and three brothers, Isaac, Robert and Gordon Buckland.
  Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Mary Willis Buckland; a son, Ross Wayne Buckland and his wife, Laura, of Beckley; five daughters, Mrs. Russ (Mary Jane) Soucy of Horseheads, N.Y., Mrs. Allan (Nancy) Ward of Coral Springs, Fla., Mrs George (Linda) Schuster of Rockledge, Fla., Debra Rutherford of Lanark and Wendy Buckland of Winston-Salem, N.C.; five grandchildren, Chris and Robert Buckland, Jennifer Rutherford, Kathryn Soucy and Chad Ward, and two sisters, Ada Spencer of Garland, Tx., and Marie Pack of Bells, Tx.
  Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday. at the Rose and Quesenberry Peace Chapel with the Rev. Karl Reese, assisted by Russell O'Neal, officiating. Burial followed in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Prosperity.
  Pallbearers will be Russell Soucy, Allan Ward, George Schuster, Stephen "Dinky" Sherman and Gary Connard.
  Arrangements by Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home, Beckley.
