  Mrs. Martha Jane Harris, aged fifty six years, of Burns City, died at her home there Monday night after two months illness of cancer. The deceased was born near Burns City, Jun 25, 1870, and spent practically all her life in that vicinity. She was married to Henderson Harris on September 9, 1888, and to their union nine children were born, eight of whom are still living. They are John E. Harris, of Elnora; Leatha Sims, of Terre Haute; William S. Harris of Rommona; Josephine Piper, of Indian Springs; Ernn Findly, of this city; Marvin, Almeta and Bernadette, at home. Mrs Harris had been in failing health for a year or more and had been in serious condition during the past two months. She is a member of the Boggs Creek Baptist church, she having joined that church at the age of thirteen. The funeral service was held Wednesday afternoon at the Burns City Christian church, followed by interment in the Burns City cemetery.
