He had been in ill health 11 years. Mr Parris was born October 18, 1877, near Vincennes, a son of the late Newton and Rachel Fisher Parris. He lived in and near Elnora the past 20 years. He was married October 25, 1904 to Elizabeth Harris, who survives with these children: two daughters, Mrs. (Mannie) Ernest Long of Elnora and Mrs. (Minnie) Charles Smith of Bicknell, and a step-daughter, Mrs. (Golda) Oliver Cornelius of Washington, Ind. There are four grandchildren. One sister proceeded Mr. Parris in death. Funeral rites will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Elnora Methodist church, Rev. E. A. McBride, of Bicknell officiating, assisted by Rev. John Bolin of Elnora. Burial will be made in Fairview cemetery at Elnora. The body will remain at the Poindexter - Wampler funeral home here, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Friday until noon Saturday, then will be removed to the church at Elnora to lie in state until the hour of the service. *** Washington Democrat Washington, Indiana Thursday, September 18, 1947 ELNORA RETIRED FARMER EXPIRES Elnora, Sept. 18 - Perry Theodore Paris, 69, of Elnora, passed away at the Moore nursing home in Petersburg this morning at 3:35 o'clock. He had been in ill health for several years. A retired harmer, Mr. Parris was born near Vincennes in 1877, the son of Newton and Rachel (Fisher) Paris. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth (Harris) Paris, two daughters, Mrs. Ernest Long and Mrs. Charles Smith, of Elnora and one step-daughter, Mrs. Oliver Cornelius of Washington. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Elnora Methodist Church with the Rev. E. A. McBride of Bicknell, assisted by Rev. John Bolin, of Elnora, in charge. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. Friends may call at the Poindexter and Wampler funeral home in Sandborn from 10 a.m. Friday until noon Saturday when the body will be taken to the Elnora Methodist Church until the hour of services.
