a. Note:   n Victoria and his marriage, was transferred to West Australia where he worked in Perth and then Wyalketchem where Barry and Kevin respectively were born. In 1945, after the war, the family returned to Victoria where Jillian was born. Due to the shortage of housing in Melbourne, the family initially lived with Phyllis' mother at Murrumbeena and then rented his sister's house at Pascoe Vale. He was appointed manager of bank branches at Bridgewater-on-Loddon in 1947, Warragul in 1952 and Hastings in 1957.
  Maurice enlisted in the Australian Army at Wylketchem, WA on 21 Jun 1942 but was not called up.
